As a group – what do you know enables good learning? What are the levers? What to do we believe about learning? What is our vision for our learners? Does this apply to just children or the whole community?

Top down or bottom up? How much of your own CPD is top down?
Split groups up - What are the benefits of top down cpd what are the potential pit falls? Another group bottom up pros and cons. Based on philosophy – vision that our school is a learning community – what do we know about good learning? Do we create this ethos in our school for our staff to become/continue as good learners?

Individual – self review, personalising objectives within the school needs, Tailored staff/school training time CPD logs CPD portfolios/appraisals Research/development teams Use of experts – P.E, French, Music, Art Peer to peer, leaders, across teams Feeding back and sharing own learning Learning to lead – e.g. subject leaders Professional reading/literature/research Coaching Mentoring Team teaching Paired observations Lesson study & Iris - video Class swops Pupil voice – children leading ideas on teaching and learning.

But It all hinges on the values you live by in your leadership of the school. Learners will not take risks if they do not feel safe to do so. What is your culture of learning like? How do you model this and feed this? How do adults know it is safe to develop practice?
