PLANNING FOR FALL CALENDAR: AUG. 14TH UNTIL PREP-BOWL * IMPORTANT FOR YOU AS PARENTS TO KNOW WHAT WE HAVE SCHEDULED * WHENEVER POSSIBLE, PLEASE DON’T SCHEDULE APPOINTMENTS, SENIOR PICTURES, “FAMILY DINNERS” DURING FOOTBALL ACTIVITIES * IF YOUR SON HAS A JOB, MAKE SURE HE LETS HIS EMPLOYER KNOW HIS FOOTBALL SCHEDULE. (JOBS DURING WEEKDAYS IN-SEASON ARE ALMOST ALWAYS A BAD IDEA)

PLANNING FOR FALL 4) REGULAR SEASON EXPECTATIONS * REGULAR ATTENDANCE AT PRACTICE IS MANDATORY DURING THE SEASON * MISSING PRACTICE FOR A JOB IS NOT ACCEPTABLE * MISSING PRACTICE WITHOUT LETTING A COACH KNOW IS NOT ACCEPTABLE

PROGRAM DETAILS Elimination policy * We do NOT cut any players in football Lettering policy * All players MUST finish the season in “Good Standing” in order to letter. This means all equipment needs to be turned in. Captains * Seniors must apply by the August 15th * Captains will be announced on August 25th

PROGRAM DETAILS Playing time * Everyone will play at their appropriate level. Playing time will NOT be equal for all players. * Discussions about playing time MUST start with the player and their position coach.

PROGRAM DETAILS Equipment care * Every player is given about $ of equipment. It MUST be cared for as if it is your own Behavior off the field * We will not be stereotyped in a negative way because of the behavior of a small group of players. * The only way to be removed from the TEAM is repeated negative behavior off the field

PROGRAM DETAILS Coaching * Our #1 goal is to develop a cohesive TEAM * We are willing to discuss any concerns you have, but the discussions will NOT take place at the spur of the moment. It must be planned in advance. * There are things we will and will not discuss at these meeting. Please respect these boundaries at all times.

ROLES OF ALL INVOLVED IN THE PROGRAM 1) PARENTS * RELEASE YOUR SONS TO THE TEAM AND THE COACHES * DAD’S: YOU ARE NO LONGER THE COACHES * MOM’S: WE WILL DO EVERYTHING WE CAN DO TO KEEP YOUR SONS SAFE * TAKE A LOOK AT THE HAND-OUT AND REFLECT ON IT FOR YOURSELF

ROLES OF ALL INVOLVED IN THE PROGRAM 2) PLAYERS * THE ONLY TWO THINGS YOU CAN ALWAYS CONTROL ARE ATTITUDE AND EFFORT * BE COACHABLE BECAUSE YOU HAVE A GREAT TEAM FIRST ATTITUDE * EARN SUCCESS BY GIVING GREAT EFFORT EVERY TIME YOU STEP ON THE FIELD

ROLES OF ALL INVOLVED IN THE PROGRAM 3) COACHES * LOVE THE PLAYERS: THEY ARE ALL LIKE SONS TO US * ENSURE THEIR SAFETY: THIS IS OUR HIGHEST PRIORITY * PROMOTE THEIR DEVELOPMENT: WE PUSH THE PLAYERS TO DEVELOP TO THEIR FULLEST POTENTIAL * PUT THE TEAM FIRST IN ALL PLAYING TIME DECISIONS

Football Booster Mission
To financially support the Orono High School Football Program and Coach Weiland’s goals, as well as to provide volunteer hours to ensure a safe, memorable and successful experience for our players, fans and families. We do this through fundraising, volunteer coordination, and connections with Orono Youth football, the marching band and the cheer squad. Goal: Get as many families involved as possible Promote awareness and enthusiasm for our football program.

Financial Goals 2017 FB Booster Budget Coach Salaries $15,000 New Practice Jerseys $5,625 Bus Meals $4,500 Workout Equipment* Preseason BBQ $500 Homecoming Yard Signs $1,650 Banquet & Senior Gifts $4,000 Preseason Scrimmage $1,000 Carbo Loads $1,600 Flat Screen TV and Cart* $1,500 Filming $750 Miscellaneous $5,550 *Coach Weiland’s wish list items TOTAL Budget $57,925 Football Program cost per player, in ADDITION to Registration Fee is $579!! Contributions are 100% tax deductible We are asking for a one-time lump sum donation from every family to cover everything in the budget, including: carbo loads, bus meals, etc.

FeePay vs. Booster Dues FeePay Registration Covers:
Coaching salaries Game officials Athletic trainer and medical expenses Game staff Event supervision Equipment and Uniforms Insurance Transportation for regular and post season Field equipment for games Last year it covered the HUDL expense Orono Football Boosters Membership Dues Cover: Additional coaches needed Bus meals Carbo loads Pre-season BBQ Multi-team Scrimmage Picnic Player Yard Signs Senior night End of season banquet & Senior Gifts Coach Wish List items such as new practice jerseys, workout equipment, flat screen TV with cart, filming games OFB does not receive any monies collected from Concessions or the Ticket Sales. Concessions go to OHS Band. Tickets receipts go to the District to cover the expenses for maintaining the field, stadium, and utilities.
