Homeroom Assignment Have all of your homeroom paperwork out on your desk. Write down your homework in your agenda. Put your name on the folder that you are going to use for homeroom. (This will stay in the room.) If you do not have one, I will provide you with a manila folder. Read the PACK Matrix and complete the Expectations Tree Map. Silent Read.

Bellwork-1st day of school
Directions: No Talking!! In the bellwork section of your math binder copy and answer the following: COPY: List 3 personal goals you have for the school year. 1. 2. 3. List 3 academic goals you have for the school year

Attendance Policy Students will be given NO MORE than 5 days to make-up work or tests which were missed because of an excused absence. It is the STUDENT’S responsibility to arrange to make-up work! Make-up work must be completed!

BE NICE! Class Rules: Bring materials/supplies.
Enter class quietly and start ‘warm-up. No gum/candy. In class on time. Choose to follow the ‘Husky’ rules. Exit class when I dismiss you.

Discipline Plan 1st offense: Verbal Warning
2nd offense Loss of Privilege (Silent Lunch This may include seat change, time-out, call home, note home, silent lunch, etc. 3rd offense: Parent Contact/Conference 4th offense: Office Referral (usually ISS) This action is placed in your permanent school record.

Ideal Classroom Fold your paper in half. Draw 2 pictures.
Draw one picture of a classroom that does not have rules and procedures, and a 2nd classroom where students are following rules and procedures. What is the difference between the 2 classrooms?

What are the students doing? What is the teacher doing?

Procedures: the sequence of actions or instructions to be followed in solving a problem or accomplishing a task On the following slides are procedures to help our classroom run smoothly. REMEMBER IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION, RAISE YOUR HAND!!

Completing Bellwork Bellwork is an activity completed at the beginning of each class period, lasting 5-10 minutes. As you come into class, prepare yourself and your materials Proceed directly to your assigned seat. Take out last night’s homework. Write down your homework into your agenda. Refer to the screen for the day’s Bellwork assignment. Begin the Bellwork in your binder in the bellwork section. When finished, review your work, be ready to share, and wait for teacher directions.

Coming Into Class Late If you are coming into class late, complete the following steps: Silently hand the teacher your pass Proceed directly to your assigned seat. Do not distract others. Be silent. **Remember when you are late to class you are missing valuable math time.**

Group Alert When I need to get your attention quickly:
Listen for the for a sign from the teacher. When you see the sign, immediately stop what you’re doing and stop all talking. Eyes on teacher. Wait silently for instruction.

Sharpening Pencils Pencils should be sharpened before class begins, but in the event that one breaks during class: Use your hand held pencil sharpener at your desk.

Throwing Your Trash Away:
If you need to throw something away, leave it in the corner of your desk and wait until after class to throw it away. DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR SEAT for any reason!!

Leaving During Class In the event of an emergency: Raise your hand
Wait silently for teacher to respond. Fill out destination, date, and time in your agenda. Sign out. Leave class quietly, with minimal distraction to others, and return promptly.

Leaving Class-Dismissal
When class is over, complete the following steps: Collect all your personal belongings. Pick up any trash around your desk even if it is not yours. Be silent. Wait for teacher to give final directions and/or reminders. CLASS WILL BE DISMISSED BY THE TEACHER, NOTHING ELSE!

Returning from an Absence
When you are coming back from an absence, complete the following steps: Check the plastic bins on the side bookshelf. Any handouts that you missed get out of the appropriate “day” bin (Mon.-Fri). On your own time get the notes from a classmate. Check with at least two peers in class to clarify any questions that you have. If you are still confused, see the teacher after class the next day. REMEMBER IT IS UP TO YOU TO GET AND COMPLETE YOUR MAKE-UP WORK!!

Closing Each day you will have a closing that will count as part of your notebook grade.
