Jeans get tighter, bikinis get smaller, tube socks get higher, afros get bigger and colors get brighter. The 70’s was a very fun time period for fashion. It was so trendy that a lot of the styles are coming back today!

Who influenced 70's fashion?
Disco played a big part in 70’s fashion! Thanks to John Travolta and Saturday Night Live disco exploded into the scene. Dallas and Dynasty also influenced the disco era.

The fashion was big bells, small waists, and average sized shoulders.

Trends Women wore common designs that consisted of straight skinny shirts with bellbottoms, a knit suit, in a jacket and skirt, or a pant set, print dress, or a one-piece dress or pants suit. Men wore wide ties with big floral prints, and unstructured jackets. The disco look was popular. It consisted of bell bottomed pants and matching jackets. Leisure suits was also worn.

Popular Colors Loud clashing colors were very popular ranging from considerate to wild. Swirling psychedelic prints, flowers, medallions, geometric shapes, and zodiac signs on clothes were favored. Vivid, striking colors, bright pinks, sea greens and wonderful shades of cornflower blues.
