1 Swim Course – 500 Metres – 1 Lap
the swim course will start at the northern end of the midcourse reserve and is an m shaped ‘out and back’, ‘out and back’ course consisting of 1 lap totaling of 500 metres. swimmers will start in knee-deep water. on the first & second ‘out’ leg, swimmers will round the buoys in a counter-clockwise direction. on the first ‘back’ leg, swimmers will exit the water and round a buoy, which will be situated on the beach, in a clockwise direction. on the second ‘back’ leg swinmmers will exit the water and make there way up the ramp and into transition to commence the bike leg SWIM START TURNING BUOY ON SAND SWIM EXIT

2 Cycle Leg – 19.5kms – 3 Laps ROADS ARE OPEN** OBEY ALL ROAD RULE** STAY TO YOUR LEFT [unless overtaking] The cycle leg starts on Brebner drive. Heading north along brebner drive competitors turn left into west lakes blvd, left onto military road, left into trimmer parade, left into sportsman drive left into brebner drive and back to transition. This is repeated 3 times before competitors re-enter transition to commence the run leg. CYCLE START/FINISH PLEASE DO NOT DRAFT or BLOCK ON THE CYCLE LEG. Both of these actions are illegal and will incur a time penalty to incurred in the penalty box

3 Run Leg –4 kms – 1 Lap RUN START
the run leg is flat and heads south along the lakeside path until competitors turn left on frederick street . staying on the footpath runners head east along trimmer parade until they reach sportsman drive where they turn left and follow the footpath until they reach brebner drive. a final left hand turn into brebner drive for a short distance before entering the finish chute to complete the event.
