What is argumentative writing?
Argument/persuasive writing is a chance to get people to think the way you do about something. Some common forms of persuasion are: advertisements, editorials, and even a simple letter.

Name Calling Giving an idea a negative label
Used to make us reject and criticize something without even really thinking about it first.

Plain Folks The method by which a speaker attempts to convince the audience that his ideas are good because they are “of the people,” the common, or “plain folks.” Politicians trying to seem like regular people. Commercials showing average Americans to promote a product.
