Data Collection Vs. 1 – God is speaking to Edom (S) Vs. 1- Judgment is coming (I) Vs. 2 – Judgment is against Edom (I) Vs. 3 – Edom had a pride problem (S) Vs. 7 – Edom’s neighbors are preparing for war (I) Vs. 10 – Judgment is because of their relationship with Israel (S & I) Vs. 11- Edom didn’t help Israel when needed (S) Vs. 15 – Because they’ve acted bad, bad things will happen to them (S) Etc….

Occasion & Purpose: Obadiah
Summary Paragraph Obadiah had a vision about the Kingdom of Edom, who descended from Esau, Jacob’s brother, therefore are Israel’s “cousins.” God is not happy with how they’ve acted, how they’ve treated their cousins, nor with how they aren’t paying attention to Him. God is planning to send armies to destroy Edom. The purpose of this book is to announce God’s judgment against Edom.
