7. Why Are We Taking the SAT?
The SAT is a college entrance exam and meets part of your High School and Beyond Plan.
Scores are good for two years.
The District is paying for this test, which saves you $54.50!

8. What Do I Do Before the SAT?
Be on time to school!
Get a good night’s sleep.
Eat a healthy and BIG breakfast.
Use the restroom before you go to your testing room.

9. Where Do I Go?
All testing rooms are on the 3rd floor. Take one of the room cards for easy reference.
If you forget your room assignment, we’ll have posters in the front hall.

Twins/Siblings cannot test in the same room. If you are on this list, this is your room assignment. Do NOT use the alpha room list on the next slide.

12. When Do I Need to Be Here?
You will need to enter your assigned room by 7:45am
The test will begin at 8:00am
If you get breakfast at LC, eat it before you come to your testing room.

13. What Can I Bring? What Can I Bring?
Pencils (#2 only, no mechanical pencils). We will also have pencils to loan out.
Full water bottle (optional - for break time)
Snacks (optional - for break time)
Calculator & extra batteries (you cannot use your cell phone)
We will have a limited number of calculators available to borrow.

14. What Type of Calculator?
Calculators permitted while testing are:
Graphing or scientific calculators
Four-function calculators/simple calculator (but are not recommended)
Not permitted as a calculator:
A laptop or a portable computer
Electronic writing pad or stylus device
Pocket organizer
Cell phone calculator
Calculator that has keyboard-like keypad

15. What Not to Bring? What Not to Bring?
Cell phones/smart phones (if you bring one, it will need to be turned OFF and placed at the front of the room)
iPods or other MP3 players. Headphones MUST be in your bag away from your desk.
Laptops, notebooks, tablets
Timers of any type
Cameras
Any device capable of recording audio, photo or video content, or capable of viewing or playing back such content

16. What to Expect in the Testing Room?
You will be given an assigned seat.
You will have three 5-minute breaks.
You can use the restroom or eat/drink during the breaks.
You must be SILENT during breaks – no talking about anything!
You can only leave the room for emergencies during other points in the test.
You will not be given any extra testing time if you leave the room.

17. What to Expect in the Testing Room?
You will take your pencils, calculator, and snacks/water out of your backpack.
If you brought you cell phone, it MUST be powered off (not just silenced) AND placed in the front of the room on the whiteboard shelf – NO EXCEPTIONS.
Backpacks will all be placed at the front of the room – NO EXCEPTIONS!
You will not be able to access your phone or anything in your backpack until you are dismissed from the test.
Snacks and water must be off your desk until break – you CANNOT eat or drink during the test.

19. What Do I Do When I’m Dismissed?
Please know that not every SAT room will be finished at exactly the same time. When your room is dismissed, please quietly leave the 3rd floor and go eat lunch.
If you want a cafeteria sack lunch, find Mrs. Meyer on the 3rd floor after the test and she’ll have brown bag lunches. You’ll need to provide your ID number to charge your account. There will not be a hot lunch service for Juniors.
After you return from lunch, you will go back to your testing room for study hall until 2:30pm.

20. How Do I Find Out How I Did?
In approximately 4-5 weeks, you can log in to your College Board account to view your scores.
