14. Deferred Maintenance in Our National Parks
The National Park Service celebrated its 100th birthday this year celebrating a national system of more than 400 sites and over 75,000 assets.
After decades of inconsistent funding, the repair backlog in the national park system is estimated at nearly $12 billion (FY 2015), of which over $3 billion is attributed to historic, non-transportation related structures and sites.
Deferred maintenance puts historic buildings, cultural artifacts, and natural wonders at risk of permanent damage or loss.

15. Get Involved in a National Campaign
The Trust is partnering with The Pew Charitable Trusts, National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA), and other partners on a national campaign to address the repair backlog.
