3 Origin Contd. On Christopher Columbus’ second expedition in 1493 he brought the seeds or oranges, lemons and citrons to Haiti and the Caribbean. They were introduced to Florida, along with lemons, in 1513 by Juan Ponce de Leon.

8 Orange Recipes There are many Wonderful recipes involving oranges around the world. They can range from simple things such as Orange Butter, to more complex recipes like Asian Orange Chicken.

9 Asia The Asian Orange Chicken is a marvelous tribute to orange recipes. It does take a long time to prepare and cook. It’s a great dish to make if you have the time.

10 Ingredients for Asian Orange Chicken
Sauce: 1 1/2 cups water 2 tablespoons orange juice 1/4 cup lemon juice 1/3 cup rice vinegar 2 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce 1 tablespoon grated orange zest 1 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon minced fresh ginger root 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic 2 tablespoons chopped green onion 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes  3 tablespoons cornstarch 2 tablespoons water

Chicken: 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1/2 inch pieces 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 3 tablespoons olive oil

12 Spain Orange cake is a typical dessert recipe from Valencia, where the best oranges are produced. Orange cake is very easy to prepare, and will become an instant success when you offer it to your family or guests!

13 Ingredients for Orange Cake
25 oz  cream cheese 6 oz biscuits 2 oz butter 2 oz of sugar 3 fl.oz orange juice 10 oz of mandarins or preserved oranges Chocolate shavings

14 Directions for Orange Cake
Smash up the biscuits and mix them with the melted butter. Put the mixture in a loose-bottomed tin greased with butter and put it in the fridge for 15 minutes. In a separate bowl, beat the cheese, the sugar and the orange juice until you get an even mixture. Pour this mixture into the tin and put it back into the fridge for four hours Decorate the cake with pieces of mandarin and chocolate shavings. .
