3 GPRS connection using the 3DVision
Connect to a dedicated PC Verify available port for usage from the “Server Status” list, see below example – all servers marked as “New_Project” are free to use. Server is free to use Emerson Confidential Slide 3

4 GPRS connection using the 3DVision
2.1. In order to find the list of free projects, press right click on the Server Icon and select “Connection Server Status” Emerson Confidential Slide 4

5 GPRS connection using the 3DVision
3. Run 3D Vision Client and Select a “Advance Connection” as connection mode. 3.1. Press Edit button and verify that Server Name and Server Port have the same value, also verify Server IP than press OK. 3.2. Insert user and pass and press connect Emerson Confidential Slide 5

6 GPRS connection using the 3DVision
4. Open the a New Project, once the Project is connected it will launch the Wizard: Set Project Name and number of sites (in our example 1 site), and press Next Emerson Confidential Slide 6

7 GPRS connection using the 3DVision
5. Set Connection details, and Press Finish 1. Insert site name, how many vessels on site? How many Scanners in vessel 2. Connection type: Smart GPRS 3.1 You can set a site name in phonebook(all connection details will be saved and load automatically). 3.2 Phone Number is the number of the SIM in the LinkPro 3.6 The IP of the PC that runs the SMS server (Sending connection SMS) 3.7. SMS Server Port is static 3.3 Local IP port is always 1731X where X is the digit before the last digit of the port: for example so port IP will be 17318 3.4 The external IP is static – you can type from the local computer and it will show you this address. 3.5 APN word – Access Point Name. Our SIM’s APN is internet Emerson Confidential Slide 7

8 GPRS connection - Troubleshooting
Not managing GPRS connection? Check if the LinkPro + SIM pass the communications test in the “Modem Wizard”. If the Wizard test is successful -> the LinkPro + SIM should work on site RS485 converter USB comport of SIM number inside the LinkPro Access Point Name Emerson Confidential Slide 8

9 GPRS connection - Troubleshooting
The LinkPro passed the Modem wizard test and still no connection? Make sure 120 Ohm resistor is installed on both ends of the RS485 line(Line impedance should be 60 Ohm) Check for wrong wiring Check power source of the scanner and LinkPro (both should have the same source) Check ground (just for the scanner) Verify that the LinkPro is position in a place with cellular coverage (for example not inside electric cabin, not close to power source, not underground ect’) Make sure that the SIM (provided by APM) has been activated Emerson Confidential Slide 9

10 On Site TeamViewer connection with APM Eng
When initiating a request for APM assistance using TeamViewer, the following action should be made prior to APM connection: Verify and understand customer claim (“The scanner is not working well”, or “scanner is unstable” is not a good feedback) Generate a trend log of the last 24 hours of the problematic vessel Run echo curve analysis for all scanners that are installed in the vessel Emerson Confidential Slide 10

11 On Site TeamViewer connection with APM Eng
Emerson Confidential Slide 11

12 Managing multiple users on virtual PC
Multiple Remote Desktop connection is not possible due to IT regulations. When connecting using RDP, one must check if all windows are minimized, if not = Someone is already working on this PC When Done working on your site minimize Client. Activate TeamViewer in order to make a connection with APM engineer Emerson Confidential Slide 12

13 Performance problem solving
The following steps are required in order to analyze all performance issues: Understand customer claim Generate 24 hour trend log and see if the problem is visible on the log Emerson Confidential Slide 13

14 Performance problem solving
2.1 Is customer claim visible on the log? 2.2 Did it generate a movement of more than 3% (or greater than Locator calculation)in volume? Emerson Confidential Slide 14

15 Performance problem solving
3. Check echo curve analysis and presented measurement. Does the presented measurement correlates with the position of the echoes on the echo curve? Presented measurement Emerson Confidential Slide 15

16 Performance problem solving
