Being saved = present continuous

Paul does not make it up.
This is very important, this is central to the Gospel.
Firstly, Christ died.
Secondly, Christ was buried.
Thirdly and finally, Christ was raised from the dead on the third day.

The enemy mankind has not been able to defeat, has become for the Christian nothing more than sleep!

If there is no resurrection of the dead then Jesus would not have been raised from the dead.
But he’s just proved that Jesus did rise from the dead!

If Jesus is not alive then our preaching is useless, our faith is futile and we are still in our sins.
But our preaching has meaning, it has the most wonderful content, which is why it is called Good News.
The fruit of the Gospel, salvation from sin and death, is available to all who believe.

If Jesus was not raised from the dead, neither will they, they are lost, gone, perished.
What sets Christianity apart is how it changes our view of death.
Paul speaks of death as gain.

If for this life we have hope in Christ only…
If Jesus Christ was not raised from dead then Christianity is a sham, bogus, a huge deception
BUT Jesus was raised from the dead! He did die for our sins, our preaching and message is Good News, our faith brings redemption from sin and salvation. Believers who have gone before, we will see them again! And we should be the most joyful people on the planet.
