What to Wear Appropriate clothing/attire for different seasons
Illinois has four seasons In the summer, it can reach up to 38 degrees Celsius (100 degrees Fahrenheit) Winter temperatures can reach below -10 degrees Celsius (below 0 degrees Fahrenheit)

Don’t Pack a Pest! Know the Rules for Bringing or Mailing Food from Home Declare all food and agricultural products to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials when you arrive in the United States If you fail to declare agriculture items, customs officials may confiscate them and issue you a costly civil penalty Make sure family & friends don’t send prohibited or restricted food or agricultural items to you For More Information

U.S. Customs at the Port of Entry
Required Documents I-20 or DS-2019 Passport that is valid for at least 6 months past entry date to U.S. Valid F-1 or J-1 entry Visa SEVIS fee payment receipt Proof of Finances shown on the I-20 or DS- 2019 Customs Declaration form which you will receive and complete during your flight to the U.S.

Electronic I-94 The I-94 is one of your most important immigration documents showing your legal entry and nonimmigrant visa type If possible, confirm information is accurate as soon as possible, preferably before leaving the airport Incorrect information can cause delays in starting employment, or obtaining Social Security Numbers and Driving Licenses
