Doctoral Program Master’s Program 2 to 5 years of study Students can earn a PhD 1 to 2 years of study Students can earn a master’s degree (MA, MS, MBA) University Undergraduate Program 4 years of study Students can earn a bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) Community College Undergraduate Program First 2 years of university education Students can earn an associate degree (AA, AS) and transfer course credits towards a bachelor’s degree +2 years of study at Univ. An associate degree enables students to: Begin a career immediately in any one of hundreds of fields that do not require a four-year degree. Transfer to a four-year college or university. Usually after 2 additional years of study, students can obtain a bachelor’s degree. HCC Honors Institute Smaller Classes Experiential Learning Leadership Opportunities Study Lounges Transfer/Scholarship Assistance Smaller Classes – Honors courses are capped at 15 students, allowing students optimal interaction with their professors and classmates Experiential Learning – A more hands-on approach to learning through field trips and volunteer service meant to engage the students and educate outside the classroom Leadership Opportunities – May serve as club officers or board members for the Honors Office staff Study Lounges – Designated exclusively for Honors students and equipped with computers, printers with free printing, a microwave, refrigerator, tables, chairs, and sofas Transfer/Scholarship Assistance – The Director of the Honors Institute works with Honors students to negotiate scholarships and transfer opportunities on their behalf
