In the analyses exposure was estimated using three alternative approaches: In the unadjusted and multivariable adjusted models as baseline adherence from the index date to the end of first year of follow up (t0–t1); in the inverse probability weighted analyses as a time varying adherence from the index date until the end of pre-event (CVD-event or death) year or the end of follow-up (t0–t1 or t0–t2 or t0–t3) which ever occurred first; and in the sensitivity analyses from the year preceding the event or end of follow-up (t0–t1 or t1–t2 or t2–t3).
