3 LOGIN/PASSWORD QUESTIONS (continued):
I have a DSS account but no LAUSDnet account. Will I still be able to access DSS? I already have an Inside LAUSD account. How do I get a DSS account? What if I already have accounts for both Inside LAUSD and DSS? I don’t have an Inside LAUSD account nor a DSS account. I need to have access to DSS. What should I do? NEW “LOOK AND FEEL” QUESTIONS: Will there be a change in the “look and feel” of DSS? What navigational changes should I expect in the new DSS?

4 Why is DSS merging with Inside LAUSD?
DSS is merging with Inside LAUSD to implement single-sign on (SSO) security. What does the single-sign on feature mean? It means that you only need to log in once and be able to access multiple applications, in this case, Inside LAUSD and DSS. Back to FAQ’s

5 I’m a current DSS user. How does this affect me?
It affects you in the following ways: You only have to login to Inside LAUSD and have access to both Inside LAUSD and DSS. You only have to remember one userID and password. Back to FAQ’s

6 Will I have to change the way I access DSS?
Yes, you will change the way you access DSS. You will have to access DSS through Inside LAUSD . How will I login to DSS now? To login to DSS, click on the next slide for detailed instructions. Back to FAQ’s

9 From the LAUSD Employees page, click on the Inside LAUSD link.

10 Log in to Inside LAUSD by typing in your username and password
Log in to Inside LAUSD by typing in your username and password. Your username should be your LAUSD address. Back to FAQ’s

11 Once you’re logged in, scroll down and click on the Decision Support System link on the right column. Back to FAQ’s

12 Will I still be using my DSS username and password?
No, you will only need to remember your Inside LAUSD username and password. Will I have to login to Inside LAUSD and DSS separately? No, you will only need to login to Inside LAUSD, and this will give you access to DSS if you have an existing DSS account. Back to FAQ’s

13 I already have an Inside LAUSD account. How do I get a DSS account?
I have a DSS account but no Inside LAUSD account. Will I still be able to access DSS? No, you will have to apply for an Inside LAUSD account to access your DSS account. I already have an Inside LAUSD account. How do I get a DSS account? To get a DSS account, fill out a Request for User ID form. Back to FAQ’s

14 What if I already have accounts for both Inside LAUSD and DSS?
If you already have accounts for both, then you just need to login to Inside LAUSD and you will automatically be able to access DSS. Back to FAQ’s

15 I don’t have an Inside LAUSD account nor a DSS account
I don’t have an Inside LAUSD account nor a DSS account. I need to have access to DSS. What should I do? You need to apply for an Inside LAUSD account as well as a DSS account. You can self-register to get an Inside LAUSD account online. For a DSS account, you need to fill out a Request for UserID form. 25 What navigational changes should I expect in the new DSS?
Navigational changes to DSS will include: No more logout feature in DSS. When you log in, you are logging in to Inside LAUSD. So when you click on Sign Out, it will sign you out of Inside LAUSD and DSS. USER.NAME Back to FAQ’s

28 What navigational changes should I expect in the new DSS? (cont’d)
Use of “breadcrumbs” – breadcrumbs act like trail marks to go back to where you came from. Use breadcrumbs to take you up one level when viewing report folders. If you have just signed in to DSS, clicking on the subject area will display all folders within that subject area. If you have already viewed the contents of a subject area, e.g., Student Assessment, you will need to use the breadcrumb at the bottom of the reports to display the entire contents of the subject area. 29 Clicking on the Student Assessment link will display the folders within that subject area.
Clicking on the CA English Lang Development Test (CELDT) link will open the folder and display the reports within that folder. To go back to the list of folders within Student Assessment, click the breadcrumb at the bottom of the reports. You will be taken back to the contents of the Student Assessment subject area.
