26
The search feature When searching for data, operators and qualifiers can be useful tools for locating specific information within Responses, Questions, Users and SMS views
27
The search feature Example Operators
AND operator: default operator, Matches when both of its arguments match OR operator | : Marches when any of its two arguments match NOT operator != : Matches when the first argument matches, but second does not* Example voters ballots stations : voters AND ballots AND stations voters | ballots | stations : voters OR ballots OR stations voters ballots != stations : voters AND ballots NOT stations
28
The search feature: NOT operator
When using the NOT operator, != will be used most of the time. However, when searching for text or long text responses in the Responses tab, the symbol - can be used as well. ‘!= ballot boxes’ means NOT ballot boxes, but ‘- ballot boxes’ means NOT ballot AND boxes (so, results that have boxes but not ballots)
29
The search feature Operators
Grouping operator (): denotes the argument boundaries Phrase operator “ ”: matches when argument keywords match an exact phrase Example (voters | ballots) stations : first, search for all the results with ‘voters OR ballots’, then search within those matches ‘AND stations’ “voters ballots stations” : search for any results where ‘voters’, ‘ballots’, and ‘stations’ all appear in that order and appear right next to each other.
30
The search feature Qualifiers Menu Qualifiers Responses
form, submitter, submit-date, reviewed, source, text Questions code, title, type, tag Users name, login, , phone SMS content, type, username, name, number, date, datetime
31
The search feature Need more help or reminders? The Search Help feature provides information on the qualifiers, operators, and combinations that can be used to search for specific information within the current area.
