5. SEC-16-BES-2017 - Through-foliage detection, including in the outermost regions of the EU
Through-foliage detection is based on a network of Ultra Wide Band (UWB) radar sensors, mounted on airborne and land platforms.
The fleet of sensors is controlled by C2 system.
Advanced signal and image processing techniques are applied for target detection.
New operational procedures are designed to take advantage of the new technologies and improve border surveillance.
