Match you to a suitable voluntary placement overseas
Negotiate a programme of work with your host
Assist with and advise you on pre-departure arrangements
Provide pre-departure support and information
Provide in-country support that balances independence with a duty of care
Monitor programmes and placements
On hand 24/7

2. Host responsibilities:
Agree realistic duties
Provide support (Mentor)
Deliver an appropriate placement induction on arrival
Provide and maintain appropriate accommodation
Provide a pre-agreed allowance (where agreed)
Ensure placement level health, safety and security
Report progress to Lattitude
Monitor and manage volunteer performance

3. Your responsibilities:
Abide by the ‘Volunteer Code of Conduct’
Have realistic expectations
Be willing to make a difference to others
Look after your health, safety and wellbeing
Treat others with respect and courtesy at all times
Be open to learning rather than imposing your own views, values and culture
Escalate any issues and concerns swiftly and appropriately

4. Code of Conduct: summary
I will make every effort to fulfil my commitment to the placement
I will abide by all of the laws and regulations in my host placement country
I will not place myself or others at risk and I will take responsibility for my personal health, security and wellbeing
I acknowledge that my attitude, behaviour and actions during placement and outside of my assigned volunteer work time may reflect on me, my host placement and Lattitude
I acknowledge that a serious breach of the Code of Conduct may lead to immediate dismissal
