3 DECLENSIONS Nouns belong to 1 of 3 different Declensions.
1st Declension Female words. 2nd Declension Male words. 3rd Declension Male + Female + Neuter ‘odd ones out’. The ending only gives information on what the noun is doing in the sentence.

4 The NOMINATIVE The SUBJECT of the sentence.
THE MONKEY KISSES THE BOY NOMINATIVE ACCUSATIVE VERB

5 The ACCUSATIVE The OBJECT of the sentence.

6 THE DATIVE TO or FOR THE MONKEY GAVE A GUN TO THE BOY
