functioning like a noun} A . Nouns A noun is the name of a person or thing. Examples: teacher, desk, cat… Types of Nouns Common Nouns Name of a general class of persons or things (child, stick, cow, city…) 2. Proper Nouns Name of a specific and individual person or things (India, Ali, King Saud University…)

2 B. Pronouns It is a word that stands for a noun (I, you, he, this, who, which) Types of Pronouns Reciprocal (each other), 2. Demonstrative (this), 3. Reflexive (myself) … Properties of Nouns and Pronouns Person a. First Person – the person speaking (I, we) b. Second Person – the person or thing spoken to (you) c. Third Person- the person or thing spoken of (he, she, it, they, tree, basket) Note: Nouns are in third person. Names of individuals are in the first person. Names of individuals are in second person if they are spoken to.
