3. Focus areas – biofuels research and innovation
The aim is to enable increased use and production of biofuels from lignocellulose and byproducts/waste
Biofuels with composition identical to or similar to gasoline or diesel (drop-in)
High priorty:
Fuels from lignin
Can be blended with existing fossil fuel and contribute to a fast transition
High proportion blends and pure biofuels
High priority:
Ethanol
Fuels via gasification (metane, methanol, DME)
Biogas via AD
Good long term alternatives but require new vehichles and infrastructure

Total industrial and academic co-financing approx.135 MSEK/year
