2. Current Changes- Who is affected and how?
Current New Basics and Stage 1 – will all do the new GCSEs, which will be grade from 1-9.
Current Stage 2:
Year 9 – will do new GCSEs in English and Maths and be graded 1-9; in other subjects they will be given GCSE grades as they currently exist.
Year 10 and 11 – will do GCSEs as they currently exist and be graded A*-G.

4. Making choices
Students will need to think carefully about their choices:
Ebacc – English & Maths and 2 from Science (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Computer Science) 1 MFL, 1 Humanities (History/Geography).
Progress 8 – Students will be judged on their best 8 subjects which have to include English, Maths, 3 Ebacc subjects and 3 other good qualifications.
Breadth – students need to ensure that they are picking the widest breadth to ensure that they have a good and wide coverage of subjects.
