214 Square Miles 6500 to feet in elevation Has been inhabited by Ancient Indians Spanish Conquistadors Land Barons like Lucien Maxwell Mountain Men like Kit Carson Miners, loggers, and cowboys All left their mark on the area and you will get the opportunity to experience it all.

About 35 different itineraries to choose from Preference will be determined by the crews Selection will be in March 2018 12 Member Crews Resupplied in the Backcountry First 2 Nights with a Philmont Ranger

12 Philmont Treks Usually Reserved by a Scout Unit
Each Council is Granted 1 or More Crews Every Year Ore-Ida Usually Gives the Contingent Crew to a Unit For 2018 the Council is opening the opportunity up to youth from across the council Contingent Crew Maintain your regular unit Come together only for Philmont preparation and training

First two nights with Philmont Ranger Stick to the Itinerary Conservation project during trek (3hours) Resupplied in backcountry May have layover camps May have dry camps

22 Youth Requirements 14 years old on July 7, 2018 (DOB Before 07/07/2004) 13 years old and completed the 8th grade on July 7, 2018 (DOB Before 07/07/2005) Under 21 by July 18, 2018 (DOB After 07/19/1997) Meet the medical and height-weight requirements Be in good physical shape

26 Financial Policies All funds are NON-REFUNDABLE

BSA 4 Part Medical Form is REQUIRED Within Previous 12 months (dated after 7/7/2017) Signed by Physician (MD, DO, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant) Height/Weight Limits See Philmont Risk Advisory Medications Must be mature and responsible enough to take any necessary medications by themselves.
