Goal of CACFP Improve the diets of children by providing nutritious meals. Help children develop good eating habits that will last through the years

CACFP Provides meal reimbursement to child care centers, adult day care centers, emergency shelters and child development homes for serving nutritious meals/snacks.

CACFP Provider Requirements
Registered with DHS Maintain Daily Menus, Meal Attendance and Daily Attendance Information Attend 2 hrs of training each FY Receive 3 in home reviews from CACFP staff

What meals can be reimbursed?
Reimbursed for 2 meals and 1 snack or 2 snacks and 1 meal or 3 snacks. Meals must contain creditable foods. Children are eligible until they reach the age of 13, migrant workers’ children through 15 yrs and disabled persons with documented disability.

Program Integrity A minimum of 2 unannounced reviews
Monitor all meal types which includes breakfast through suppers Yearly enrollment forms completed and signed by parents Yearly household contacts through parent audits

Seriously Deficient If a provider is declared seriously deficient must offer a corrective action plan Provider can request an appeal with the DOE If a provider is terminated for cause, placed on the National Disqualified List for seven years or until the state agency reinstates them to the program.
