We can often assign more complex, authentic problems to groups of students than they could to individuals. Group work introduces more unpredictability in teaching, since groups may approach tasks and solve problems in different, interesting ways. Group assignments can be useful when there are a limited number of viable project topics to distribute among students. We can reduce the number of final products we have to grade….

Welcome to Group work Jeopardy! The fun and sneaky way to review material!

34. And now… a brief introduction to the RULES of the GAME…

35. Each group must: a) SIT TOGETHER with your team , and b) Designate 1 SPEAKER who will respond to the questions.

36. The game consists of FIVE categories, each containing Three questions

37. Lead speaker may select only ONE question per round

38. Once the selected question is posted on the screen, representatives of teams will stand up. Whoever stands up first, answer the question.

39. A CORRECT ANSWER earns the team the amount of points indicated on the jeopardy board.

40. If the speaker does not respond correctly after s/he stood up, they lose the designated points.

41. Questions that are not answered correctly by the selecting team are offered to the other teams in turn until a correct answer is given or all teams have guessed incorrectly. Once a team answers wrong, it will not have a right to answer the same question again.

42. The number of points for the correct answer at this stage are the same as for the previous team.

43. The speakers may consult with teammates before responding(5 seconds).

44. During the game, whispering is OK, but LOUD talking and/or disruptions DURING THE GAME may result in point loss for the entire team.

45. For the Daily Double, the main speaker designates the number of points – up to the max. points earned by the team. If correct, the team earns the designated points; if incorrect, they lose the designated points.

46. Again, whispering is OK, but remember, LOUD TALKING and/or DISRUPTIONS DURING THE GAME may result in point loss for the entire team.

47. The judge’s decisions are FINAL and whining, pouting, and/or complaints will NOT BE ENTERTAINED…
