3 Background USEF leadership has not made a decision regarding the use of Depo- Provera® In conversations with our membership, it became clear that a robust conversation regarding the science and use Depo-Provera® was necessary Hear the questions and get the answers: What is the science behind the medication? Why do people think it is controlling hormone swings that help make horses more manageable? What is the timing mechanism and how does it work? Is it a calming agent similar to a tranquilizer that is being used as a training substitute? Or, does it keep a normal baseline for a horse to function, and is that acceptable?

4 Workshop Format Workshop information available to those attending in person and watching via live-stream on the Workshop webpage 123 comments and questions were submitted prior to the workshop and will continue to be received until March 20, 2017 Attendees registered online and could request time to present at the Workshop Invited Presenters will speak first, followed by those attendees that requested time to present Panelists may ask clarifying questions of the presenters, but will not answer questions during the Workshop. Answers will be provided by April 30. Following the close of presentations, attendees, USEF staff, Affiliates, and Panel Members may ask additional questions, which will be recorded and evaluated prior to the Panel’s recommendation at the USEF Board of Directors midyear meeting in July
