So the park rangers have built the penguins little houses to protect their eggs AND to help keep them cooler. The sea gulls are stealing their eggs! This is helping them survive!

“Investigating Heat Transfer” Plan:/Brainstorm ideas based on the: Criteria for success Constraints Mike = Define what criteria for success and constraints. 5 minutes slides 11-15

18 Criteria for Success: Design a shelter that will reduce heat transfer by keeping the ice from melting. Mike = copy in your handout 5 minutes slides 11-15

19 Constraints: maximum production cost = $10.00;
use local materials (tested in previous investigations); shape can be a box, sphere, cylinder or combination but should not have a volume more than 5 in x 5 in x 5 in design, build and test a prototype within 1 class period. Mike = copy in your handout 5 minutes slides 11-15
