Horror Writers Anne Rice
American author of gothic fiction, and Christian literature. She is perhaps best known for her popular and influential series of novels, The Vampire Chronicles, revolving around the central character of Lestat. Books from The Vampire Chronicles were the subject of two film adaptations, Interview with the Vampire in 1994, and Queen of the Damned in 2002. Horror Writers Edgar Allen Poe 1809 - 1849
American writer, editor, and literary critic. Poe is best known for his poetry and short stories, particularly his tales of mystery and the macabre. He was one of the country's earliest practitioners of the short story Poe is generally considered the inventor of the detective fiction genre and is further credited with contributing to the emerging genre of science fiction. Horror Writers Marry Shelly (1797 – 1851)
English novelist, short story writer, dramatist, essayist, biographer, and travel writer, best known for her Gothic novel Frankenstein or The Modern Prometheus (1818). She also edited and promoted the works of her husband, the Romantic poet and philosopher Percy Bysshe Shelley. Her father was the political philosopher William Godwin, and her mother was the philosopher and feminist Mary Wollstonecraft. Horror Writers R. L. Stein
American novelist, short story writer, television producer, screenwriter, and executive editor. He has been referred to as the "Stephen King of children's literature" and is the author of hundreds of horror fiction novels, including the books in the Fear Street, Goosebumps, Rotten School, Mostly Ghostly, and The Nightmare Room series. Some of his other works include a Space Cadets trilogy, two Hark gamebooks, and dozens of joke books. As of 2008, Stine's books have sold over 400 million copies. American author of horror, supernatural fiction, suspense, screen writer, science fiction, and fantasy. His books have sold more than 350 million copies, many of which have been adapted into feature films, miniseries, television shows, and comic books. King has published 54 novels, including seven under the pen name Richard Bachman, and six non-fiction books. He has written nearly 200 short stories, most of which have been collected in book collections. Many of his stories are set in his home state of Maine. The shinning (1977) Stephen King wrote the popular story “The Shinning” in a real historically haunted hotel called The Stanley Hotel and it is still haunted till this day, but he uses his imagination and creativity to make it more terrifying to read in his book.

Do you want to be horror writer? Or tell your encounter of the paranormal. It has to be true or personal experiences and use a jump scare if necessary. We will read them in class, the next day. Get there scare on! Write a 500-word essay story, that’s two pages. 12 point size font, Time New Roman, 1-inch margins with no header. Double space for 2 pages. And give an interesting title for your story. Use word or google doc. Please pay attention to your grammar. Grammar check your paper.
