A Resource for Employees, Supervisors, Managers and Directors

2 Licensed mental health professionals offering:
Short-term solution focused individual and couples counseling 6 sessions per year Free & Confidential Work, personal & organizational concerns Referrals to health plans, HR, Unions and community resources Employees may use EAP services such as personal counseling on their own time which includes SLP, VLP, CTO and lunch time. If the employee is referred by a supervisor and manager about a work-related issue that they agree needs to be worked on, the employee can come on work time with supervisor/manager approval.

Work Stress Anxiety Depression Parenting Communication Relationships Substance Abuse Anger Management All counselors have many years of experience in the field of mental health and over 40 years collective experience within the City & County of SF. Employee come to talk about many different issues including these.

4 MEDIATION: To help two employees reach an agreement.
CRITICAL INCIDENT OR DISRUPTIVE EVENT RESPONSE: To help employee units through difficult times of crisis, loss or trauma . Mediation is typically initiated by a supervisor or manager and employee must both want to participate. The supervisor or manager will receive a copy of the final agreement to ensure that each person is complying with their agreement. CIR also sometimes referred to as a Disruptive Event includes death of an employee, workplace violence, natural or man-made disaster and particularly difficult events with clients, customers or patients.

5 Workshops, Seminars & Trainings
Stress Management Effective Communication Dealing with Difficult People Time Management Anger Management CPI Non-violent Crisis Intervention If employees are interested in workshops, they can ask their Champion, supervisor or manager. They should also look at the myhss.org website for open workshops or trainings that typically take place twice a year except for the CPI which must be ordered for a work group.

6 TIME USE POLICY FOR EAP SERVICES
Employees must use their own time for appointments with EAP Sick leave Floating holiday Vacation CTO Lunch Work time may be used if You are referred by a supervisor, manager or HR professional for a mutually agreed upon work-related issue.
