To better understand what is going on, we gotta start out small.
And I mean, small!!

From the Greek word “atomon” which means uncutable, indivisible.
The structure and theories surrounding atoms would be revised for centuries to come.

7. Elements There are over 118 and COUNTING!!
Elements are the purest form of matter.
Elements are composed of only one single type of atom.
They can have anywhere from 1 atom to MANY atoms in their pure state

Compounds are made up of many different elements.
Compounds that are chemically bonded together are called molecules.
The number of compounds and molecules that can be formed is staggering!
