Students….you should continually monitor your progress throughout the semester Grade Reporting Feb 3--Progress Reports March 10--End of 3rd quarter April 13--Progress Report Parents...In addition to our regular progress reports, you will be notified of additional concerns through the Yellow/Red notice process Do not wait until May to discuss academic concerns!!

NETS Grad Requirement National Educational Technology Standards
NETS 5/6 – Digital Citizenship & Keyboarding MUHSD students must complete the Cyber Safety and Keyboarding requirement in order to graduate. (Please see list tonight!) Students may practice/take either test in the Library before school/after school. Students may practice/take either test in Room 201 on Wednesdays at lunch Students who have NOT passed will be assigned Saturday Academy time beginning in March

From the Library MUHSD student accounts will be deleted within 2 weeks of graduation Students may create personal gmail accounts in which current s/google docs may be kept Instructions will be posted on the library’s webpage and further instruction will be provided through library and senior classes

Obligations All obligation MUST BE CLEARED prior to participating in MHS events— PROM Grad Night Grad Ceremony! PLEASE TAKE CARE OF OBLIGATIONS IMMEDIATELY! DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE END OF THE YEAR. YOU MAY SET UP PAYMENTS AND/OR PERFORM WORK DETAIL TO CLEAR SOME OBLIGATIONS.

White Robe at Graduation Ceremony for Life-time CSF Members (4 semesters from 10th, 11th, and 12th grades with 1 semester in their senior year) Gold Stole - Qualifying and joining for all 8 semesters is 100% CSF Attendance CSF Dinner - May 23rd at 6:00pm Invitation only Place TBD. Graduates only, no parents or guests Seniors who qualify for a life-time 100% membership will be notified

Time and Place June :00 PM – 5:00 AM Location – either GVHS, MHS, or EL Cap - TBD Tickets will be sold in the SBO Volunteers Needed!! Purpose Safe, Sane, and Sober FUN!

Representing MHS A Community Event
Appropriate dress for Graduation In addition to the cap/gown ordered through MHS/Jostens MEN: slacks, dress shirts, neckties and appropriate dress shoes WOMEN: dresses, skirts, or slacks and appropriate dress shoes Inappropriate Dress: jeans, shorts, worn-out tennis shoes, flip flops, additions to the academic regalia not provided by the school (leis, decorated caps, etc) No balloons allowed at the graduation.

GRADUATION PRACTICES ARE MANDATORY!! STUDENTS WHO MISS PRACTICE WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL JEOPARDIZE PARTICIPATION IN THE CEREMONY!!

Graduation Honors Gold Cord--3.5 and above
White cap/gown—CSF Life Membership Gold Stole—100% CSF attendance Purple Cord--250 hrs Community Service Various other cords/stoles--LINK, Mentor, AVID, Band, etc. These honors are part of the Academic Regalia provided by MHS in addition to the cap/gown you have ordered

Community Service Awards
Minimum of 250 hours of Community Service required for “Purple Cord” Final deadline to submit Community Service Hours: May 1, 2017 NO IF’s AND’s OR BUT’s!!! Your hours must be verified. If you are unsure of what qualifies, ASK!!! Ms. Tippett can help!!

Graduation Speakers National Anthem/Flag Ceremony
Tryouts will be held for Speaker-at-Large and for singer of National Anthem The week of April 10, sign up in SBO—Tryouts, the week of April 24 Selection by a panel of teachers/staff Flag Ceremony sign ups May 16 in the SBO

Your attendance here = 1 extra Attendance at April Senior Activities = 1 per each day (2 total) If additional tickets are needed, sign ups are taken and tickets are granted as available

ASB STICKER ESTIMATED SAVINGS COST OF AN ASB = $25 PROM SAVINGS = $10 GRAD NIGHT SAVINGS = $10 YEARBOOK SAVINGS = $10 These three items alone, which your senior will most likely wish to purchase will cover the cost of an ASB sticker. That means that any HOME GAMES, SCHOOL DANCES, LETTERMAN’S PATCHES & ASB EVENTS will be FREE! May be purchased in the SBO
