By: frank lewalski

2 The words of the second amendment

3 Lets look at the first section to the amendment
“A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state” Militia- local militant force used to defend a country or region

4 A look into the second part of the amendment
“The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” Infringed- encroached or stepped on in any way, shape, or form

5 Who does “people” in the second part of the apply too?
Many anti- gun activists use the argument that “people” only applies to the militia, meaning a national guardsman or soldier The 4th amendment reads “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

6 Why do we want to protect this amendment?
For the protection of ourselves and others. 200,000 women use a firearm each year to defend themselves from sexual assult 4/5 felons, in a poll, say they will not even attempt to mess with people if they or anyone else is armed States that adopted open carry laws received an average of; 8.5% reduction in murder, 5% reduction in rapes, 7% reduction in aggravated assaults, 3% reduction in theft and robberies Citizens who are armed, stop violent crimes 2-3 times as much as police officers

7 Lets look at how gun control is going in the uk!
Possession of handguns is illegal in the UK 2,034 violent crimes per 100,000 people in the UK compared to 466 violent crimes per 100,000 people in the US After the ban of handguns in the UK, violent crimes rose 77% Most violent crimes in the UK now are committed using kitchen knives, calling for a ban, in the UK, of long pointed kitchen knives

8 What anti- gun activists argue
Only weapons used during the time when the second amendment was ratified should be protected under the Second Amendment Firearms always kill people

9 Here's why They're wrong! By anti gun activist logic:
Spoons make people fat Cars drive drunk Pencils misspell words

10 Also by anti gun activist logic
You do not have the right to post what you want on social media You only have access to a writing quill and old fashioned note paper You can not practice religions such as Islam Oh and you also have the right to…..

11 This medical care!!!

12 Japan didn’t invade mainland united states because…..
The Japanese Admiral Yamamoto is known for saying “It is impossible to invade mainland United States. There will be a rifle behind every blade of grass”

13 I know I want to protect my family, do you?
Average police response time is 8-10 minutes In that amount of time a person can bleed to death from their femoral artery times over Use a firearm to prevent an injury from occurring at all, especially during that 8-10 minutes Calling 911 and hiding will do nothing but make you an easy target
