Assemble pipe sections, tubing and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing and welding equipment.
Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angle, using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, and pip-bending machines.
Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.

Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, and related machines and equipment, following specifications and using hand and power tools.

Install assemblies, such as flashing, pipes, tubes, heating and air conditioning ducts, furnace casings, rain gutters, and down spouts, in supportive frameworks.

Schedule apprenticeship entry aptitude test and orientation
Upon satisfactory testing, interview and completed application, you will be issued a letter of introduction. (make multiple copies)
Contact the offices of local contractors from the union you have applied to and give them a copy of your letter of introduction and resume.
