Our Accrediting Commission
Commission for Community and Junior College (ACCJC) A regional accrediting commission Accredits associate degree granting institutions Establishes eligibility requirements, Accreditation Standards, commission policies, and procedures to assess institutional quality Our Accrediting Commission

What Accreditation Does
Only accredited institutions qualify for financial aid (Title IV funds) and federal/state grants! For Students Vital for international mobility Transfer of credit Legitimacy of degrees and qualifications For the Public Assures legitimacy of institution and confidence in the quality of programs and student services Promotes accountability through ongoing external evaluation What Accreditation Does

We spend the majority of our time in Institutional “Follow-up… Ongoing, daily accreditation work ! Peer Evaluation & Visit Commission Evaluation & Decision Institutional Follow-up Self Evaluation Presenter : Lianne Begin by 12:47 Show video - this crazy cycle is the perception of accreditation for many folks. We don’t want to feel like this! The “formal” self study, visit, and evaluation are just a small part of the accreditation process. The majority of time is spent in daily accreditation work …..the work of ensuring student success We don’t always connect that our conversations with colleagues about students and how we support them are actually informal accreditation work that connects with ACCJC standards.
