History of Jeepney - During the World War II, jeeps were
used as military vehicles. - After the war, the locals transformed the jeeps into passenger vehicles that can accommodate 9 persons. - Today, jeeps were innovated into more accommodating public transport vehicles. - As solution to income problems of the jeepney operators, patok jeepneys were born.

What is a Patok Jeepney? Patok Jeepneys: “patok” means “marketable”

There is a problem on the behavior of both populations – drivers (operational) and passengers (riding). Drivers of patok jeepneys are not responsible enough to assure the safety of their passengers.

Conceptual Framework Output Recommendations Drivers:
Drivers should be more disciplined and responsible for the safety of their passengers. They should educate and familiarize themselves in the laws, ordinances, and policies related to their line of work. Drivers should undergo driving technique evaluations during the application or reapplication of licenses.

Conceptual Framework Output Recommendations Passengers:
Passengers must find a safer alternative routes and modes of transportation in going to or from their schools. Conduct a safety awareness campaign to educate the students and other passengers about passenger safety on public utility transport .
