Catholic Parish of Hastings Youth Ministry
AGM 2017 WELCOME TO YOUR YOUTH MINISTRY’S STORIES!
2
Introduction Malo e Lelei and warm welcome to our Youth Ministry’s report! My name is Faaki Tuanaki and been your youth worker since 9 February, 2015 (2 years & a month). It had been a challenging time of work and had met different walks of life: spiritually, physically and mentally. It’s encouraging to learn and experience how much our young people really need our support in different ways and mostly, our ‘Prayers’. I invite you all to take a name of one of our young people and pray for that person. They are all hungry souls seeking help with their Faith and need Holy Companions.

What did not work Running separate two youth groups (7&8 and plus.)

What have I learnt? Young people are in need of prayers for their brokenness and needs (Spirit, body and mind) Young people need sense of belonging, sense of meaning, opportunity to develop competence. The more young people attended formation events (Youth Camps) the better they could do for our Parish! Young people needs Holy Companions

Goals for the next 12 months.
Youth Council (Parish Priest, Laity, students reps from all schools, etc) Leaders’ training (weekend) New young people in the band (younger) Hungry Souls, Holy Companions
