WHY? Enable teachers to identify specific strengths and weaknesses or consolidate opinion from other evidence Facilitate future planning Ensure pupils are in correct ability bands Evidence used as part of basis for intervention if necessary eg extra support required Useful if a class has to be split (6 teachers for 7 year groups) Standardised tests widely recognised as a good assessment tool Tests completed in early May annually (a few exceptions)

RESULTS Tests are marked Raw score totalled
Score converted to Standardised Score in line with pupil’s age Results are stored electronically and as hard copy Parents are informed in Oct Parents’ meeting Teachers track underachievers in Literacy and Numeracy Results are compared and interpreted as part of the big picture of assessment.
