10. AP verses Dual Credit
Advanced Placement Course (AP) means you take the course at Kingwood High School. At the end of the school year students take a national standards based test, your score determines if credits are earned. AP credits are accepted at colleges across the nation.
Dual Credit is taken like a regular course with a teacher at Kingwood High School. At the end of the course, students take a semester final to complete the college aspect of the course. The course is on your Lone Star College transcript. You need to verify that your 4 year college will accept the course for your degree plan.
