3 T.I.P Team Interdisciplinary Project
The project incorporates the Florida Standards in all content areas. This project will count for 15% of students quarterly grade in each of your 5 classes. Students are expected to follow the project rubric for your grade level. Teachers will discuss the project, materials needed, and the rubric in class. Teachers may choose to have parts of the project due prior to the final project due date. This will keep each child’s project in line with the suggested timeline.

9 6th Grade Science Portion
You will draw a picture of the ships described in the book. Teacher Notes: The science teachers will pass out the 6th Grade TIP #1 Science Portion pamphlet to the students in class. Page 1 – The students will draw a cover page for the science pamphlet. The students can include pictures of the ships described in the book.

10 6th Grade Science Portion
Teacher Notes: Page 3 – The students will use the diagram on page 2 to answer the question on page 3. Have the students pay close attention to the currents depicted in the diagram.

Use the following website to fill out the Types of Ocean Currents Chart: Use the following websites to fill out the Types of Wind Patterns Chart: Teacher Notes: Page 4 - The students will use the website addressed listed to fill out the two charts. If you do not have a cart, you could project the websites using your LCD projector to complete the pamphlet.

Complete the characterization chart based on your assigned character from the novel. Make sure to provide textual evidence (quotes) and page numbers to support your observations for all five categories

13 6th Grade Language Arts Refer to the chart you completed in reading for your assigned character Create an original “I Am” poem of at least 10 lines that describes your character

Timeline of Events: Create a timeline that documents a chronology of events from the story in the order in which they occurred. Students will receive a list of significant events from Blood on the River. The timeline must include a title and a minimum of 10 dates with the related event descriptions and pictures.

16 6th Grade Social Studies
Journal: Create a journal describing the importance of each event noted on the timeline, from the point of view of a character in the book. The journal must include a title page that includes student name, team, and group, and 10 entries: 1 entry for each of the events from the timeline, organized chronologically (in order by date.) Each journal entry must include the following: The date when event occurred The brief event name related to the event that appears on the timeline A minimum of 3 sentences describing the importance of the event. BE SURE TO USE YOUR OWN WORDS!! (ANY PLAGIARISM WILL RESULT IN A ZERO!)
