2. Family My full name is Aaron Kent Johnson
I have four wonderful kids, three still at home, one that is out on her own and one on the way!
A wonderful wife of 12 years named Rebecca
And last and maybe not least, in their own minds, a chocolate lab named Judah and a cat named Zinga.

3. Education and Career
I graduated from Cal State East Bay, with my B.A. in history with a focus on California history and the West
Teaching is my second career, for the last 9 years I have owned and operated A and D Construction. We specialized in custom homes and remodels
I will be teaching social sciences at the high school level
My teaching assignment is at Vanden High School ( in Fairfield, I will be teaching 10th grade World Civilizations

4. Why Teach?
I love history! I want to impart the same love and joy that I have for the subject to the next generation of students.
It runs in the family. My mother was a teacher, my sister teaches 5th grade and my dad was a pastor and a mass consumer of history books
I love learning! I count it a joy and a privilege to help kids learn the joy of learning and I hope that I can help impart this joy as they become life-long learners.

5. A Little More When not in school or at work:
Church – I am the youth director at New Hope Church of the Nazarene and love directing such activities as Bible study, annual Teen Retreat and various other youth group activities
Family – I am the father of four wonderful kids and enjoy helping them in everything from homework to baseball.
Fun – I LOVE THE OUTDOORS! I love to backpack (first trip was when I was six), camp, fish, hunt, hike, bike, snowboard; if it takes place outside I love it. I also play tennis, softball, and read a lot.
