4. Motivation
DND has ca items of real property with a replacement cost of 26-Bn CAD (19-Bn €) from Atlantic-Pacific-Arctic Oceans
Internal audits of real property, ranges, utilities, and environment showed areas to improve (IM) and good practices (GIS)
et al.

5. Business Modernization
DND had already combined finances and equipment maintenance in Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS – a SAP Client)
Decision: Use DRMIS for infrastructure and environment—UXO, plant maintenance, spill/release reporting (including overseas), and other programme areas

Using existing, commercially available software, CAN DND has been able to improve business intelligence in the infrastructure and environment portfolio
