Different Types of Early Reforms During The Industrial Revolution
In the socialism system governments owned the means of production and operate them for the welfare of all people. Utopian socialists believed that people could live at peace with each other if they lived in small cooperative settlements, owning all the means of production in common and sharing products. Karl Marx published the communist manifesto, a pamphlet lining out his ideas. Marxists, or radical, socialists generally believed in the necessity of revolution to overthrow the capitalist system. Democratic socialism, influenced by Marx, retained basic human rights

19.5 Terms Socialism- some reformers of the 1800s advocated a political and economic system called socialism. Governments owned the means of production and operate them for the welfare of all people. Communism- an economic and political system which ignores basic human rights which is also referred to as authoritarian socialism. Authoritarian socialism- refers to a collection of political-economical systems describing themselves as socialists. Democratic socialism-people retain basic human rights and partial control over economic planning through the election of government officials. Proletariat- workers for the middle class Bourgeoisie- the middle class

Karl Marx Karl max believed that the capitalists would continue to amass with wealth while driving the proletariat deeper into poverty which would cause the proletariat in the most advanced and industrialized nations to unite, seize power in a revolution, and establish socialism. He was a journalists & published Communist Manifesto

Robert Owens Ideas Of Reform
Owen believed that if people lived in a good environment, they would cease to act selfishly. Owen encouraged workers to form unions . Owen established cooperative communities in great Britain and in the united states.
