Senior TimeLine March April 8th – Prom: 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm
Come to School Complete all Assignments Seniors need to be on top of grades for 4th nine weeks 29th – Grad Bash Bus Departs at 3:30 pm March 20th – 24th – SPRING BREAK May Apr 10th – May 9th – Final Exams/EOCs 17th – Grades Due 18th & 19th – Attendance required for students needing grade recovery 19th – Last Day of classes 22nd – Graduation Rehearsal :00 am 23rd – Awards Night :00 pm 25th – Clearance Day :00 am 26th – Baccalaureate Practice: – 11:00 am 28th – Baccalaureate Service – 4:00 pm (GOWN only) May (Cont’d) 30th – Graduation Ceremony **Seniors must arrive by 12:30 pm Doors Open for Guests: 1:15 pm University of North Florida – Arena Ceremony begins at 2:00 pm

PROM – April 8th 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm This is your night to have a great time, however DRESS CODE WILL BE ENFORCED & VIOLATORS OF ANY KIND WILL BE HANDLED! Appropriate ATTIRE - Formal Tuxedoes/suits with dress shirt, pants and tie Knee/long dresses permitted Appropriated necklines ensuring coverage of bust area Front, back, side slits – mid high Proper under garments & formal grooming expected Footwear – formal PLACE DoubleTree by Hilton (Airport) Single - $60.00 Limit the items you bring to the Prom. School is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

PROM - Continuation Inappropriate ATTIRE (You will NOT be allowed in the Prom) Dresses that are shorter than MID THIGH (Always do the fingertip to check) Dresses with low cut or plunging necklines -too much cleavage is exposed (keep in mind an acceptable dress on one person could be inappropriate on another) Bare stomachs – back cut too low Front/back slits (overly exposed) No athletic shoes, work boots, flip flops, etc. Once again, there will be NO REFUNDS! All prom guests must submit an application if they do not attend APR (Must be a Junior /Senior or a person who graduated last year to attend). Invited guest must not be over the age of 19 Pick up applications from Ms. Smith – Room E105 Senior and Junior class officers are not free Ladies, if you are getting alterations done to your dress, they must be completed by your return from Spring Break There will be no refunds given at all for students failing to adhere to the rules

Ladies - Acceptable Dress Code Gentlemen – Acceptable Dress Code
Grad Bash Students arrive by 2:3o pm - Depart at 3:30 pm, April 29th - Return by 5am - April 30th Students MUST attend ALL classes on Thursday. Students who are not in class will not be permitted to attend the trip. Students who do not attend the trip will NOT be refunded monies. Ladies - Acceptable Dress Code Dresses, skirts, capris/Bermuda shorts (mid-thigh), casual pants, jeans, casual blouses/tops with sleeves (3inches wide), comfortable shoes, purses no larger than 8.5x5.5 (size of half sheet of paper), camera & cell phones Gentlemen – Acceptable Dress Code Casual pants, shorts, khakis , jeans, secured waist, shirts with sleeves, sport jackets, dress suits, comfortable shoes, camera & cell phone

Unacceptable Attire Back packs, camera, oversized tote bags. Accessories that portray weapons ..chains, spiked collars, belts, sharp objects Clothing with holes, tearing, shredding, inappropriate language, graphics, gang signs, drugs, alcohol, tobacco Clothing that is revealing, bathing tops/bottoms, see-through of any kind, too tight, excessive skin exposed, midriff, tank tops, tube tops, tube top dresses, one-shoulder shirts or any off the shoulder dress of any kind. Shorts, dresses, skirts too short, visible undergarment, clothing, with high school name, mascot, logos Clothing affiliated w/any school, sports team, group, club or professional, with area codes, hats, or other head attires, weapons, chemical irritants, over the counter meds, tobacco or related products, containers with fluids, includes water and perfumes, aerosol cans/bottles No matching or dressing alike among multiple students

AWARDS NIGHT – May 23rd 6:00 – 7:30pm

Academics Seniors need to be on top of grades for 4th nine weeks.
Failing any course, the senior will be pulled from senior activities to complete make up work or possibly jeopardize participation in graduation FINALS/EOCs – April 10th through MAY 9th GRADES ARE DUE MAY 17th – 11:00 am Attendance required for students needing grade recovery – MAY 18th & 19th Last Day of Classes – MAY 19th

Information From Guidance
Students who have completed all graduation requirements EXCEPT passing the required state assessments may participate in graduation ceremonies, · IF they have taken all applicable state graduation assessments each time they are given, AND · IF they have taken the ACT or SAT at least once.

Senior Clearance May 25th
Failure to turn in any books belonging to the Duval County Public School System has placed students on the debt list. Please see the DEBT List outside of Mrs. J. Williams classroom to make sure you are not on the Debt List. Students must pay all fines and debts to Ms. Thornton Students will not receive their Cap & Gown until the balance is paid in FULL. Once debt is cleared and senior has passed clearance areas, caps and gowns will be issued.

Baccalaureate Service May 28th – St. Paul Lutheran Church 2730 West Edgewood Avenue Jacksonville, Florida 32209 Seniors must arrive at 2:00 Young Men Gown Dark Necktie, White Shirt & Dark Dress Slacks Dark dress socks & Dark dress shoes Dark boat shoes are acceptable Young Ladies Normal length dress, skirt (any color), or black slacks. Black Shoes (must have a strap or closed back – open toes are fine) Young ladies should not have a collar on their attire ALL GRADUATES NO JEANS NO SHORTS NO FLIP FLOPS NO TANK TOPS NO T-SHIRTS

COMMENCEMENT EXERCISE
Tuesday, May 30, 2:00pm at the University of North Florida Arena At the conclusion of the ceremony, graduates are required to proceed to the staging area to retrieve diploma package. Horns, helium balloons, signs, banners, confetti or anything distracting to the ceremony WILL NOT BE PERMITTED into the Arena. Students are not permitted to bring the following items: Purses/Book bags (will have to be searched and put into Arena storage) Food/Drink/Gum/Candy Balloons/Toys/Streamers/Confetti Illegal Substances (alcohol/nicotine products) CELL PHONES (will be collected at the Arena and put into storage)

Any graduate caught with a banned item will be pulled from the graduation line If any graduate exhibits behaviors unbecoming of a graduate during the Commencement Exercise, that student’s diploma, report card and final transcript will be held at the school until such a time when an appointment can be made with the principal, the student, and the parents/guardian of the student.

It is advised that STUDENTS leave their cell phone at home, or with a family member during the ceremony Report Cards should be mailed home after June 9th, 2017 Final transcripts will not be available until after June 30th, 2017 These dates were set by the DISTRICT
