changes for the operation shift staff:
due to the (expected) long operation break the redirection of personnel to new working tasks was organized
the development of a new version of the electronic logbook was started in order to keep the operation knowledge available
the decrease in salary due to long shutdown in 2013 was partly compensated at the end of last year

outlook and future activities:
taking part in magnet testing of the superconducting dipoles of the SIS 100 provides the opportunity of 24/7 shift work
a three month UNILAC operation period in 2015 is under discussion
taking part in cry-ring operation to get in contact with new control software tools
providing a training program for future operators concerning machine layout, control system, the operation parameters and the parallel operation modes
