How do Christians worship God? How does their worship differ?

Match up the Keywords … Liturgical Worship, Non-liturgical Worship, Pentecostal, Hymn, Prayer, Sermon, Lord’s Prayer, Holy Communion, In many churches this is the most important service and is sometimes called the Eucharist in Anglican churches and Mass in Catholic churches. Worship that doesn’t follow a set pattern. There is a strong feeling of emotion and freedom in this kind of worship. A poem set to music. They are usually old and have been sung for hundreds of years. This kind of church is often very loud and energetic. People worship freely and joyfully. Public Worship The most common public form of worship is the Eucharist (meaning ‘give thanks’) It is also known as Mass, Holy Communion and the Lord’s Supper Public worship has many forms but all include hymns, songs and prayers set to music It also involves a sermon by the Vicar/ Minister All public worship involves expressing commitment and devotion to God in a public way

Private Worship Some Christians set time aside to pray and read the Bible at home on their own This daily act is often called ‘quiet time’ or ‘devotional’ Prayer is an important part of private worship and brings the Christian closer to God Christians often meet together in their homes in Bible study groups
