Prescriptive Residential and Nonresidential Programs
2
Technical Reference Manual - TRM
Purpose Statewide process to determine attributes of prescriptive measures and how savings for prescriptive measures will be calculated Provides transparency into savings calculations to all parties All utilities will be guided by this reference Allows all stakeholders to complete cross program comparisons between utilities when reviewing energy efficiency plan filings and compliance reports Transparency savings – this is important for future environmental compliance initiatives, such as: CCP and Iowa State Energy Plan All utilities = Three IOU’s, Munis and Co-ops that chose to implement the TRM Be positive about TRM – THIS IS A MUST
3
How does the TRM impact trade allies?
Applications – Global and measure details Additional details about home or businesses buildings and equipment will need to be captured Annual review process/program changes Normal annual review of measures, however formal stakeholder process requires consensus of the changes by all stakeholders and IUB approval and may impact the incentives provided
4
Changes to 2017 Application
TRM changes Global REQUIRED Additional information on home/building Product specific Additional product specific information Point to the General Session that introduced the TRM. Global and product specific information is required. Be positive about the TRM benefits.

Eligibility for a 2016 Nonresidential Rebate
To qualify for 2016 rebates: Customer must be invoiced for the purchased equipment prior to Jan. 1, 2017: Actual payment for the above invoice must be made prior to Feb. 1, 2017 Proof of payment must be submitted with application- Proof of payment includes: credit card receipt/statement, canceled check, money order receipt or wire transfer documentation Installation must be completed and rebate application submitted within six months of the equipment invoice date Last year, rebate levels changed, especially lighting, since it had been a while since we had large rebate changes, some trade allies asked for more clarity on how to determine which program year incentives will be used for a project. Rebate levels are changing again this year in many programs. Here is how you determine if your project is eligible for a 2016 rebates. You must meet one of the requirements to qualify for 2016 rebates.

DLC QPL Search Tool Here is where you can define your search by using Search by Keyword (model number or product code if available) or Manufacturer fields. Model number/product code is a more specific search, while the manufacturer name will cast a wider search net. Don’t forget the option to select de-listed products here.
17
Shorten / Lengthen model number XX are wildcard fields
Helpful Hints Ways to refine search Spaces, Dashes, Slashes Shorten / Lengthen model number XX are wildcard fields Use manufactures specification sheet to assist in refinement I like to start with first 5 or 6 character of a model number, all squished together. Then try different refinement strategies. No rhyme or reason, try anything you think looks like it could be a model number. Need to Update Search by clicking the orange box or in the blue search box, click on the search icon. You can also select to include de-listed products from this screen too.

Search By Model Number Example of search results.

21
DLC QPL Search Tool Exceptions
Relabeled/Repackaged Product (need a “bridge” document to tie the two model numbers together) Ex: Letter from manufacturer Manufacturer product number is not the same as manufacturer model number Ex: Philips Manufacturer catalog number equals manufacturer model number Ex: Lithonia Best bridge document would be a letter from manufacturer, example to follow. Phillips specification sheet lists Product No. then Model No.; please use Model No when filling out the application. DLC uses the model number. Lithonia catalog number example follows.
22
Ex: Bridge document
23
Ex: PHILIPS InstantFit LED T8 Lamps
Here is an example of the Philips specification sheet.
24
Ex: LITHONIA GTL LED Troffers

DLC logo on spec sheet does not always equate to DLC QPL listing
DLC Documents DLC logo on spec sheet does not always equate to DLC QPL listing Supporting documentation: DLC screen image DLC Product number Specification sheet “Bridge” Ensure that you discuss that there will be changes to the DLC QPL so you will want to look at the DLC site to ensure that your equipment is still listed. Talk about which screen image and what information needs to be on the screen image; see image example above. Can write DLC Product number on application, or include on invoice detail.
