Maidda This bakehouse is situated in Ducezio street.
It produces mainly bread with natural flours. We interviewed the owner, Mrs Tina Rizzo, to know something more about this business.

How was this activity born?
We had the idea to make bread as people made in the past.

Why do you choose this name for your shop?
Because in ancient times a Maidda was a tool for making bread.

When was it open? It was open on 1st August 2016.

What special products do you sell?
We sell bread, biscuits, Sicilian focacce and cakes made with natural flours.

The best-selling product is bread.

What kind of raw materials do you use?
We use Sicilian ancient grains.

Did you have any troubles at the beginning of your business?
Our main difficulty was to learn how to make bread.

Have you been supported by anyone to open your shop?
No, we haven’t. We did everything by ourselves.

How did you sponsor your business?
We sponsored it through advertising with leafletings.

Did the position of your shop cause you any difficulties?
Yes, at first we had some problems with parking, but then we got a pass for short stops in front of the store.
