Just the facts! Allows the children of Mississippi to nominate and vote for their favorite books. Nominations by adults & children through Sept. 30th (send to Title must be published within the previous two years 4 categories: grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12 Committee chair compiles list of nominees and distributes to committee members by October 31st Selection committees read nominations and present the final list of nominees by February 15th

How and when to vote Voting takes place in February
Only children who have been exposed to at least half and preferably all of the titles in their category are eligible to vote A designated individual at each site (teacher, librarian, book store manager, etc.) will oversee voting and reporting process Tally votes for each book and enter number of votes per book on the voting site (link posted on the USM Children’s Book Festival web-page and on the Mississippi Children’s Museum website and sent through MLA and MDE list-serve)
