What’s That Sound? Communication and Language (CAL)
We are learning to: Remember what happens in a story. Listen and work at the same time eg write our names AND listen to instructions Listen to our friends and respond to what they are saying Follow a story without pictures or props Follow instructions that have two parts eg hang up your coat and sit on the mat Communication and Language (CAL) We are learning to: To listen in a range of situations (whole class, group, individual) Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED) To listen in a range of situations (whole class, group, individual) Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED) We will focus on Asking our friends questions about their ideas, games or stories Explaining our own ideas Challenging ourselves in our learning Talking about our own behaviour Comforting our friends if they are upset Physical Development (PD) We will focus on: Forming letters correctly Writing simple words eg mum, dad, cat, dog Negotiating space (not bumping into our friends or equipment) Doing up our own coat zips Talking about how to stay safe Talking about how food helps us eg it gives us energy to play and learn Exploring Arts and Design (EAD) We will focus on : Listening to different sounds Working out how to change sound Describing sounds eg loud, quiet, high, low Making our own instruments Making up songs using our instruments Play as part of a group to act out our stories

What’s That Sound? Literacy Understanding the World Maths Reminders
We are learning to: Read high frequency words Remember the sounds letters make Form lowercase letters correctly Use the sounds we know to write words Write simple sentences eg. The cat sat on the mat. Recognise rhyming words eg cat, sat, bat. In, grin, pin, thin. Maths We are learning to: Use positional language eg on, under, through, below, beside Say when they are next to, behind, in front of something Use language related to money eg this banana cost me 50p Use language related to time eg it will be lunchtime soon. We do PE on Friday afternoon. Count things to 10, then 20 and beyond Understanding the World We will focus on: Talking about what makes us special and different from other people Talk about how things change eg autumnal leaves on trees Describe similarities and differences eg a tiger and a zebra have stripes but a lion doesn’t Use the computer/tablet to finish a programme or game Reminders Please name all clothes Please send coats, hats, scarves daily Send PE kits to school on Monday Bring your Book Bag every day Gates open at 8.45 To have fun learning when out and about!
